River Ranch is a private 90-acre Lake Placid wedding venue with panoramic Adirondack High Peaks views and an open setting for fully customized tented weddings. Placid Planner has been planning weddings at River Ranch since 2017 and is the designated wedding planner for the property, managing every wedding from the earliest planning stages through the wedding weekend.
Lake Placid Tented Weddings
River Ranch offers couples the opportunity to create a fully customized tented wedding in Lake Placid. Unlike a traditional Adirondack wedding venue with a fixed layout or standard package, every River Ranch wedding is designed around the couple, guest count, event flow, and overall wedding plans.
Ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, guest transportation, rentals, lighting, catering, restrooms, power, and weather plans are coordinated specifically for the property. This flexibility makes River Ranch an ideal Lake Placid wedding venue for couples planning a private estate wedding, outdoor wedding, or large tented celebration in the Adirondacks.
Wedding Planner Requirements
Placid Planner has been planning weddings at River Ranch since 2017 and is the property’s designated wedding planner. Our team manages every River Ranch wedding, from planning and vendor selection through rentals, timelines, transportation, guest logistics, setup, and the wedding weekend.
Our experience with the property, local vendors, tented wedding logistics, and Lake Placid event requirements allows couples to plan with clear guidance from the start. Planning services are required for all River Ranch weddings and are contracted separately from the venue rental.
River Ranch Rental Pricing
River Ranch offers land-only and estate-and-land wedding rental options from June through Columbus Day. Each rental includes five days of access for setup, the wedding celebration, and breakdown, with one event permitted during the rental period.

Not Included: The following items are required for events at River Ranch and are arranged at the renter’s expense:
- Approved rental company for all event rentals, including tents, lighting, tables, chairs, tabletop items, restrooms, and related rental needs
- Licensed and insured caterer with NYS Liquor License.
- Designated Wedding Planner (see below)
- Event insurance policy listing the property owner as additionally insured
- Wedding support vendors including photographer, entertainment, transportation, florist, etc.
The rental also includes the required special event permit, potable water, off-road guest parking, one parking attendant for guest arrival, and a maximum guest count of 350. Planning services, tents, rentals, catering, restrooms, event insurance, transportation, and other wedding vendors are contracted separately.
Required Wedding Vendors & Services
The following required items are not included in the River Ranch rental and are contracted at the renter’s expense, with the planner guiding the selection, contracting, and coordination of each vendor and service:
Rental companies for all event needs, including tents, lighting, tables, chairs, tabletop items, restrooms, and related rentals.
Licensed and insured caterer with New York State liquor license
Wedding vendors, including photography, entertainment, transportation, florals, and other event services
Event insurance policy.
